Due to investment an exclusive Ripe4 client is looking for a Mechanical / Structural Engineer to join their expanding team. Working on an innovative tidal stream energy generator you will have the opportunity to work on the project from prototype design to implementation to maintenance.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of relevant mechanical experience, preferably with a marine bias. UK and European travel will be required to visit suppliers and carry out site works. You must have strong practical experience to compliment your design capabilities. You must be happy to take full responsibility for design decisions and work packages from conception to completion.
Essential
- Mechanical/Structural engineer, degree or HND qualified
- Competent in the use of CAD and Finite Element Systems
- Ability to assimilate new codes and standards
- Ability to prepare manufacturing drawings.
- 5 years of relevant experience
- Strong practical skills and engineering awareness
Advantageous
- Knowledge of hydraulic and hydro-mechanical systems
