Due to investment an exclusive Ripe4 client is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their expanding team. Working on an innovative tidal stream energy generator you will be responsible for the design of the power train configuration (generator, power electronics,
switchgear, transformers etc), as well as seabed cabling and grid connection/interface aspects.
The ideal candidate will have at least four years of relevant power electronics and/or power electrical machines experience, preferably with a marine bias. You must have strong practical experience to compliment your design capabilities. UK and European travel will be required to visit suppliers and carry out site works. You must be happy to take full responsibility for design decisions and work packages from conception to completion.
Essential
Electrical engineer, degree or HND qualified
· Experience of grid code requirements and embedded generation interfaces
· Strong practical experience
· Demonstrable design capabilities
Advantageous
· Ideally from a wind energy or hydroelectric background
