An award winning Ripe4 client is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their expanding team. Working on innovative tidal stream and wave energy projects you will have the opportunity to work on projects from conception to completion.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of relevant mechanical experience, preferably with a marine bias. You must have strong practical experience to compliment your design capabilities and have experience developing, testing and evaluating theoretical designs. You must be happy to take full responsibility for design decisions and work packages, to plan and design new production processes and to discuss and solve problems with manufacturing departments, sub-contractors, suppliers and customers.
Essential
Degree qualified Mechanical engineer
Competent in the use of CAD and Finite Element Systems
Good presentation skills
Ability to assimilate new codes and standards
Ability to produce details of specifications and outline designs
5 years of relevant experience
Strong practical skills and engineering awareness
The ability to juggle conflicting priorities
Advantageous
· MSc, PhD or MBA
