I am currently recruiting for a Structural Engineer to work for a world leading marine energy company based in Scotland to oversee all aspects of current and future offshore projects. As the successful candidate you will be responsible for taking projects from conception through to developed commercial products.
Your main responsibilities will include;
- Solving complex problems
- Managing and coordinating structural design process and design robust systems
- Identifying structural resource needs
- Producing plans for development.
- Testing, developing and evaluating the theoretical Designs
- Developing project specifications
- Recommending modifications and ensuring that the structure is reliable and can be made again.
As the successful candidate you will have proven team lead/management experience, as you will be managing a team of sub-contractors and structural engineers. You will be Liaising with both internal teams and external clients you must have the ability to deliver presentations and drive meetings forward. You must have an excellent understanding of Health and Safety regulations, as H&S is paramount in all aspects of design and development work.
You must be educated to Degree level in Civil/Structural Engineering or a similar discipline, if you have MSc, PhD or MBA then this would be beneficial. Also if you are working to or have Chartered status then this would be of high advantage. You must have proven experience of working on marine or sub-sea projects, project management skills in the design of construction projects, and you must have a thorough understanding of the design principals involved in structural engineering.
You will be a forward thinking individual with sound experience working on offshore projects. You must possess good communication and interpersonal skills, and have the ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure at times. You should be familiar with software used for design e.g. CAD, MatLab, etc.
This role is based out of Scotland and is commutable from most areas within the central belt.
