An Electrical Engineer is required to join an innovative renewable energy company. Working on an innovative offshore energy generator you will be responsible for the design of the power train configuration (generator, power electronics, switchgear, transformers etc), as well as seabed cabling and grid connection/interface aspects.
The company is small and friendly and as you will be joining at the beginning of this project and their plans for expansion, opportunities to progress up the company and develop your career are unrivalled.
The ideal candidate will have at least four years of relevant power electronics and/or power electrical machines experience, preferably with a marine bias. You must have strong practical experience to compliment your design capabilities as you will be responsible for the electrical side of the project from feasibility through design to site commissioning. UK and European travel will be required to visit suppliers and carry out site works. You must be happy to take full responsibility for design decisions and work packages from conception to completion.
Essential
• Electrical engineer, degree or HND qualified
• Experience of grid code requirements and embedded generation interfaces
• Strong practical experience
• Demonstrable design capabilities
Advantageous
• Ideally from a wind energy or hydroelectric background
