Control Systems Design Engineer required to work as a specialist in the production of detailed technical specifications for required projects, this includes functional and control system logic specifications. You will be responsible for working with subcontractors looking over and approving detailed design drawings.
You will also be required to work with suppliers checking test specifications and the attendance of tests at supplier’s factories, liaise with Lead Engineer and team members to ensure you understand the requirements of a project to enable you and the team to enhance the quality of the work being delivered. You will have the know how to be able to perform presentations an on information for design and safety reviews, and you must have the ability to drive forward continuous improvement of the businesses core process technology.
Ideally you will hold a degree or equivalent in Electrical or Electronics Engineering and will have proven experience working within a similar position. Experience of specifying or designing control systems for a range of applications is a must and you will have the capability to produce high quality written specifications. It is essential that you have some commercial knowledge/experience of working with a range of subcontractors and reviewing their design information; the role may involve some practical testing of equipment and therefore would be beneficial if you have gained some experience in this area.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written and you should be IT literate with the ability to utilise Visio to generate logic diagrams. You will work well within a team but also as an individual and you will be able to liaise within individuals throughout the business but also externally. Working on specific projects you must be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and therefore you will have good time management and organisational skills. The role will involve travel throughout the UK on a regular basis and you must hold a full UK driving licence.
Based out of Cheshire the office is commutable from Ellesmere Port, Dunkirk, Puddington, Shotwick, Ledsham and surrounding areas.
