Process Scientist is required to plan and execute portions or complete contracts in house and contracted programmes of work for the development and/or transfer processes, as assigned to them. You will be responsible for getting involved in multi-disciplinary teams for required work, ensuring that all relevant tasks are performed and delivered on time and to a high standard in line with company procedures and policies.
 
You will also be responsible for producing estimates for required resources, data analysis and be make judgements on the impact of the data and the relevance to the process development, generate study plans and technical reports and you will be expected to take part in investigation teams when needed. You must have worked within a laboratory and understand protocols, procedures and legislations and you will be required to maintain laboratory notebooks to a high standard.
 
You should have commercial experience or a sound awareness of cGMP and if you have experience with GLP this would be beneficial. Ideal would be knowledge of Microbial Cell Culture, Cell Growth and knowledge of the fermentation process would be a distinct advantage, but not essential.
 
A sound educational background is desired, and you will hold a degree or equivalent in Biochemical Engineer, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or a similar discipline. Any further education e.g. MSc or a post doctoral qualification would be desirable.
 
Proven commercial experience working within a similar position would be preferred, but a graduate with an industrial placement under their belt will also be considered. Experience within a laboratory or industrial environment is required.
 
The role will require a degree of overtime to accommodate processes and therefore you must be flexible in your approach to work. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are vital within this position as you will be liaising within individuals at all levels and interacting with multidisciplinary teams. You will possess an enthusiasm to learn and develop, and you will uphold a proactive attitude.
 
Based out of Staffordshire the role is commutable from Newcastle Under-Lyme, Chesterton, Betley, Clayton, Stoke on Trent, Warrington, and surrounding areas.
