A Power Systems Engineer is needed by a leading manufacturing and supply company based in Cheshire. The candidate will be a specialist within the Control, Electrical & Instrumentation (CEI) section of the Plant Design & Projects (PD&P) group of the company, and will report directly to the Lead Engineer.
As the ideal candidate, you will be able to work successfully with sub-contractors on the checking and approval of detailed design drawings. You will be able to liaise with Lead CEI Engineer and other specialist engineers within the section to understand the CEI requirements to ensure the satisfactory delivery of work.
You will be able to produce detailed technical specifications for the projects you work on, including information on equipment functionality and control system logic specifications. Linked to this will be your ability to ensure high standards of safety and reliability in design, installation, and commissioning of electrical equipment.
This role will involve a lot of travel within the UK, but will also give the right candidate opportunities to travel and work with the companies international suppliers. The international nature of this role means that a good working knowledge of French, Dutch, or German would be advantageous.
You will have been educated to degree level in electrical or electronic engineering, and will have experience of specifying or designing control systems for a range of applications in process factories. Ideally you will also have experience of one or more of: MV/LV distribution, standby generation, power transformers, UPS, variable speed drives, power quality or EMC.
